Our stories define who we are. They also shape who we can become.

I am passionate about working with people and organizations to tell their stories. A seasoned independent journalist, I specialize in reporting, writing, and photographing stories for philanthropic, educational, and cultural institutions, with an emphasis on youth empowerment and collaborative impact. Providing creative services as well as project coordination, I have also written large-scale “story bank” projects, packages of multiple stories showcasing successful efforts at grassroots change in California and throughout the country.

Building capacity, evaluating impact, and ensuring sustainability are recurring themes in the stories I’ve covered: increasing an individual or a community’s ability and resources to effect and measure change and to ultimately continue that work independently.

Story U takes these goals and weaves them into an innovative, adaptable model for generating community stories.
